Looking for a job
Recent graduates from college or high school generally have only one immediate goal–get a good job. Of course, to get a decent job, one must first go through applying and interviewing with a number of businesses. More and more, employers are looking to search engines for more information on their prospective employees. This means “Googling” graduates to find out what sort of character they possess and whether they have ever been in trouble, with the law or with others. They will be greeted by social networking profiles, blogs, and forum posts–some of which may not have been written with employment in mind. A bit of personal reputation management can fix this, of course.
